MEET THE FOUNDER
JoAnne Wannarachue Lord
After more than 20 years as a fashion industry buying and merchandising executive at leading brands including Urban Outfitters, Guess by Marciano, Bebe, and New York & Company, JoAnne Wannarachue Lord made a life changing decision.
In 2017, while navigating motherhood, business travel, and a breast cancer diagnosis, she recognized a white space in the market. Women needed handbags that worked as hard as they did. Beautiful. Organized. Cruelty free. Designed with intention.
As a multitasking executive and mother of two, she struggled to find work bags and travel bags that helped her stay organized without sacrificing polish. So she created them.
Mali + Lili was born from that lived experience. It is a brand built not only on fashion expertise, but on strength, purpose, and perseverance.
Today, JoAnne continues to lead the brand from Los Angeles, balancing family, business, and philanthropy with the same intentional spirit that defines every collection.

JoAnne serves as an Advisory Board Member of The Cancer Cartel, a nonprofit organization providing financial services to individuals facing cancer. Mali + Lili proudly partners with The Cancer Cartel and the Breast Cancer Research Foundation to support those navigating similar journeys.
